Purchasing Manager

We are seeking an experienced and technically capable Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function and manage high-volume technical purchasing across multiple solar projects.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and oversee the full procurement cycle for Solar PV EPCC projects.
  • Manage high-volume technical procurement, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable supply.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for PV modules, inverters, electrical components, mounting structures, and BOS materials.

Technical & Engineering Literacy

  • Interpret BOQs, datasheets, SLDs, engineering drawings, and product specifications.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Project teams to ensure technical compliance before awarding suppliers.
  • Assess product suitability, certifications, and TNB/ST/IEC compliance.

Supplier Management & Negotiation

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, warranty terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain and grow an approved supplier list with performance monitoring.
  • Resolve supplier issues and manage escalations effectively.

Operational Oversight

  • Review comparison sheets, commercial evaluations, and procurement recommendations.
  • Ensure accurate PO issuance and timely material delivery to support project timelines.
  • Guide, coach, and supervise procurement team members.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with procurement SOPs, internal controls, approval limits, anti-bribery policies, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready procurement documentation.
  • Track procurement KPIs and provide insights for management decision-making.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil preferred), Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of procurement experience in Solar PV, EPCC, M&E, or construction industries.
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical/solar equipment and engineering specifications.
  • Import of goods experience is a must — including freight forwarding, customs clearance, HS codes, shipping documentation (BL, COO, packing list, invoice), and coordination with forwarders.
  • Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed purchasing decisions with minimal supervision.
  • High integrity, disciplined documentation habits, and strong commercial awareness.
