HR Generalist

Job Vacancy

We are seeking a hands-on and dependable HR Generalist to manage end-to-end human resource functions and support the company’s growth as project volume and headcount expand. This role is critical in strengthening HR operations, ensuring compliance and building a positive and well-structured workplace culture in a fast-growing EPCC environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment including job descriptions, sourcing, screening, interviews, and offers.
  • Build talent pipelines for technical, project, and commercial roles (campus and lateral hiring).
  • Support employer branding initiatives across the careers page and university engagement.

Onboarding, Employee Lifecycle & Records

  • Coordinate structured onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain organisation charts, job descriptions, and employee records in compliance with PDPA.
  • Manage probation confirmations, internal movements, and exit interviews.

Payroll, Benefits & HR Operations (Vendor-Managed)

  • Act as process owner for outsourced payroll and benefits administration.
  • Consolidate and validate payroll inputs (new hires, allowances, overtime, claims, leave).
  • Review vendor calculations and ensure timely statutory submissions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB).
  • Handle employee payroll queries, vendor coordination, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Support annual salary review and bonus exercises (data preparation and letters).

Performance Management, Learning & Culture

  • Coordinate performance management cycles including goal setting, reviews, and improvement plans.
  • Manage HRD Corp training plans, claims, and competency tracking.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives such as townhalls, surveys, recognition, and CSR activities.

Policy, Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Draft and maintain the Employee Handbook and HR policies in line with Employment Act, IR Act, OSHA, and PDPA.
  • Advise managers on fair HR practices and handle disciplinary documentation.
  • Maintain audit-ready HR records and liaise with regulators, insurers, and service providers.

HR Systems & Process Improvement

  • Implement and optimise HR systems (leave, attendance, employee records).
  • Develop simple HR dashboards (headcount, attrition, hiring progress, training hours).
  • Standardise HR templates, SOPs, and checklists to support scalability.

Office & Administrative Support (Light Scope)

  • Coordinate office administration, vendors, asset records, and company events.
  • Support basic HSE onboarding in collaboration with Project / HSSE teams.

Position Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in SME, engineering, construction, or project-based environments.
  • Sound knowledge of Malaysian labour laws (Employment Act, IR Act, OSHA, PDPA, HRD Corp).
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll vendors and HR systems.
  • Strong organisational skills, discretion, and ability to work independently.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an advantage).
